I may collect the following information:

The type and content of your enquiry
Information you choose to include in a message or later correspondence
Your subscription and consent status if you join the Private Collector List
Technical information such as your IP address, browser, device, referring page, pages visited and timestamps
If you later provide reference photographs or other personal material for a private commission, these materials will be handled separately and used only for evaluating or carrying out the commission under the arrangements agreed with you.
Please do not send sensitive personal information or private reference photographs through the initial website enquiry form.
3. How and why your information is used
Enquiries
Information submitted through the enquiry form or by email is used to:
Respond to your enquiry
Discuss available artworks, private commissions or possible collaborations
Maintain relevant professional correspondence
The legal basis is my legitimate interest in responding to relevant enquiries and maintaining professional relationships. Where an enquiry concerns a possible purchase or commission, processing may also be necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Submitting an enquiry does not add you to the Private Collector List. You will only receive collector or studio updates if you subscribe separately.
Private Collector List
If you join the Private Collector List, your name and email address will be used to send occasional emails concerning new paintings, private previews, exhibitions and selected studio updates.
The legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting studio@johanneswessmark.se.
Website operation and security
Technical information may be processed to operate, secure and maintain the website. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in providing a secure and functional website.
Analytics
With your consent, analytics and performance cookies may be used to understand how visitors use the website. These cookies are not activated until you accept them through the cookie banner.

4. Who receives your information?
This website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace processes technical visitor data and information submitted through forms on my behalf.

If an enquiry needs to be referred to a gallery representing the relevant artwork or territory, I will normally inform you before sharing your details.
I do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.
5. International data transfers
Squarespace and some of its service providers may process personal data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States.
Squarespace states that international transfers are protected through recognised safeguards, including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How long information is retained
Ordinary enquiries are normally retained for no longer than 24 months after the most recent meaningful contact.
Information connected to an ongoing professional relationship, commission or agreement may be retained for as long as necessary to manage that relationship and comply with legal, accounting or contractual obligations.
Private Collector List information is retained until you unsubscribe, withdraw your consent or the list is discontinued.
Private commission materials are retained according to the arrangements agreed for the individual commission.
Cookie information is retained for the periods stated below.
Information that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.

Providing personal information is voluntary. However, I cannot respond to an enquiry or add you to the Private Collector List without the required contact information.
I do not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
