Another pool-painting is finished. This one brings up a lot of memories from my wifes (who is the model) and my vacation to Mallorca last summer.
Acrylic and oil on canvas. 40″ x 30″ 101 x 76 cm.
Yesterday I finished my latest painting “Resurface” for the gallery in LA. 29″ by 39″ – 74 x 98 cm. It is painted with acrylics (some airbrushed and some with traditionel brush) and oils. Just as I usually do. This time I have used an other colorpalette then the other pool-paintings. Very desaturated but I like it.
Maybe you recognize the model… it is my daughter Sidsel again. Lucky me having such a beauty in the family 🙂
Finally after long time and a lot of work my latest painting of Agnes is ready.
The working-title have been “Beauty in blue” and that will probably stay like that.
As with most of my paintings I started out airbrushing with acrylics and then making details with oil and traditional brush. The size of this one is 62 x 37″ – 158 x 95 cm. So it is quite big. Working in sizes like that gives me more room for the smallest details and also looks kind of impressing on the wall.
Below is the finished piece and also some closeups. Hope you like it and feel free to comment here, on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/johannes_wessmark/ or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/johannes.wessmark
A small acrylic/oil-painting in size 28″x16″ – 70x42cm
from a photo of my oldest son´s girlfriend, taken last summer at Hagudden in lake Fryken not far from where I live.
This painting will be for sale at Gallery DivArt in mexico City in a couple of week.
Very rarely I take commissioned works but here is one I just finished.
“The confession” Acrylic on canvas. 32×24″ 80x60cm
Here is my newest pool-painting. The model is my daughter Sidsel and the photo was taken just a few weeks ago when we were visiting Selma Spa in Sunne not far from here.
I will send this to my gallery Arcadia Contemporary in Los Angeles so it can be shown at their exhibition “Water, water… everywhere” June 4 – 25
If you happen to be in San Francisco next week (april 27 – may 1) you should visit Art Market San Francisco. Arcadia Contemporary at booth 231 are showing some of my paintings along with a few of my colleges.
This is my biggest painting so far. 80 x 58 inches. 203 x 147 cm.
In practical terms it meant some new approaches to my work with a new and bigger lightbox among other things. It was fun and just the size gives a nice impression.
Now this painting – which actually is my second self portrait – and the two latest before this one is going to be shipped to Arcadia Contemporary in Los Angeles and hopefully be shown in their booth at Art Market San Francisco april 27 – may 1
